Parent Group Meeting Notes - December 10th, 2009

The Parent Group Meeting opened with a report from Mike Butsko, representing the Alumni Association.  The group has raised $250 toward a scholarship to be awarded to a se
nior preparing to go on Walkabout next semester.  The Parent Group voted to match that amount, creating a $500 scholarship.  The Alumni Association is hosting a chili din
ner for seniors, their parents/guardians and alumni at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 17 at the school.

The Harvest Fair and Silent Auction, held on November 14, raised $3,617 for TGS.  This is down approximately $1,500 from last year.  Parents voted to move the event date
back to December in 2010.

On Wednesday, December 16, the Parent Group will host a holiday breakfast for TGS staff at 8:00 a.m.  Food donations and set-up help is needed.  Please contact Toni Gilso
n at tgsparentgroup@yahoo.com to volunteer.

Beginning after winter break, TGS will host a series of open houses for prospective students for the 2010-11 school year.  Parents are invited to act as hosts at these op
en houses, to greet and talk with people as they arrive at the school.  Parents will be needed between 7:00 and 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, January 12
  • Thursday, January 21
  • Thursday, February 11

The annual fundraising event, Have a Heart, has been renamed Spring Into Action: Encounter our World!, and will be held 7-10 p.m. on March 12 at the Ohio Dominican Studen

A Community Breakfast with be held 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26 in the big room to provide friends of Graham with the opportunity to learn about recent accompl

services or products to the school are among the invitees.

It was suggested that a second Graham Jam be organized in January or February because the first one was so well received.
